Treehouse Museum Luau . 06.29.2013

At the end of June we took the boys to the Treehouse Museum Hawaiian Luau.  The Treehouse puts on 2 parties each year for members, and this was our first one we've been able to attend.  The boys weren't interested in the treats provided, but did enjoy the Hawaiian dance presentation.  And, best of all - they had the main floor mostly to themselves (the art activity and theater shows didn't interest the boys)!

The boys LOVE the membership to the Treehouse - thanks to their Hansen Great Grandparents and Uncle Darrin & Aunt Jill!

If you'd like to join us, just let me know - this summer each boy can have a child guest come with them, as well as 2 adults each!

Hogle Zoo . 06.23.2013

We went to the Hogle Zoo on June 23rd to celebrate Lincoln's (my co-worker's son) 1st birthday!  The boys love the zoo, and thanks to Aunt Julie, we are able to visit often!  As always, we started by visiting the elephants.  Much of the zoo is under construction, but the animals we saw were out, and active.  The train is closed (until 2014), but the boys enjoyed ending our time there with a carousel ride.  Also - you'll notice we visited without a stroller - all the boys did well walking on their own!

Dinosaur Park . 06.22.2013

As often as possible, we take advantage of the free summer activities/admission - a couple weekends ago it was Dinosaur Park!

Independence Day . 2013

Look at me - a post being blogged timely!

This past week we celebrated Independence Day.  Our family's celebration was not really "traditional", but perfect for us!

Look how much the boys have grown...last year (2012)...2 years ago (2011)...and even 3 years ago (2010)!

Boys' Birthday Party . 06.01.2013

We thought we would skip hosting a birthday party for Ryder this year.  Our intent had been to do a "big" 1st year party, and then do more of a family thing until he was older.  But, we held a 2nd birthday party to make sure he didn't feel like his brothers were taking over the attention (being born 2.5 months prior).  Then, we did a 3rd birthday party last year since his brothers got a "big" 1st birthday party.  But, something seems extra special about twins turning 2 - 2 2 year olds.  So, I had the idea to do a party for all 3 boys...in one!  

On June 1st (between the actual birthdays) we hosted their robot-themed birthday party.  The boys have plenty of possessions, so we elected to make it a "no presents" party - it was really a barbecue with birthday treats!

If you are looking for custom made shirts, you must check out Bluewater Road Kids.  The owner is incredible!  SO easy to work with, and the shirts are the best quality!  They've held up to multiple washings, and still look like brand-new.

Also - we've yet to have a "birthday cake" at any of the boys' parties.  At this age, we just figure that it is easier to not mess with extra plates and forks!  A few months previous, some co-workers took me to Madbrook Donuts - I decided then that we would order their donut holes as the birthday treat.  Madbrook was great to work with, and was more than happy to customize 12 dozen donut holes with the boys' colors - in sprinkles!

And, I think when my ability to write (and have people still read it) is limited, I tend to summarize things the best:

For the past 2 years the June picture has been taken on Father's Day.  But, with the boys' birthday party at the beginning of the month, I had to take the opportunity then, too!  Ryder suggested the additions of their "party hats"!

Baby Animal Days . 05.11.2013

A little over a month ago we headed to Kaysville for "Baby Animal Days".  Working in Brigham City, I had heard many co-workers talk about the event in Wellsville - but, with the city being well over an hour and a half away, we skipped it this year.  When we saw it advertised in Kaysville (still not sure if it is the a duplicate, or something different...) we thought it would make for a fun family activity!

Harvick & Jarrett's 2nd Birthday . 05.04.2013

Harvick & Jarrett's 2nd birthday landed on a Saturday this year - we took advantage of our day together, taking Front Runner to Salt Lake.  We spent the day at the Discovery Gateway Museum, with a break for lunch at California Pizza Kitchen.

And...true to form, I took too many pictures.  And, blogging them all takes too long.  And, I am ridiculously behind on scrapbooking.  So - I'm trying something new.  I scrapbooked the day (and took too many layouts to do so...), and will post that here.  2 birds, 1 stone...right?!

So.  It's June.  But, it's only the 4th.

May had 2 occasions for a Brothers picture.  Harvick & Jarrett's 2nd birthday, and Mother's Day.  So, while my intention is to only have 1 picture per month - I couldn't resist the opportunity for 2 in May!
