Ryder . 10 Weeks

10 weeks old, and still weiging in at 14 pounds, 6 ounces.

No new developments this week; although, every week Ryder seems to get more and more vocal!

Ryder showing off his new shirt that he wore on Patrick's birthday.  The shirt reads "DADDY is my SUPER HERO".

One of Ryder's favorite ways to play is to lay down, while we make silly faces/talk/play with his toys.  You are almost always guarenteed to get several big smiles out of him.  He is doing that, while wearing one of my favorite shirts . . . probably for the last time, as it is getting to be a bit snug.

Patrick and Ryder have figured out how to play Rock Band together!  Now, we just need to buy one of those front facing sling/carriers, and Ryder could watch the action on the TV.

Another one with Ryder laying down, and us doing something to make him smile!

Lastly, a picture from this morning.  Ryder has mastered the skill of grabbing the bug's leg (that hangs over his playmat).  When he catches it, he swings it around, hence the slight blurriness of the bug in the picture.

This week is my last "full" week at home with Ryder, so we will be enjoying our time together.  I start working Tuesday-Thursday next week, so the weekly emails will still continue . . . once I am at work full-time (November 2), I may have to adjust the day they are sent.

Ryder . 9 Weeks

9 weeks old, and weighing in at . . . drum roll, please . . . 14 pounds, 6 ounces.  He gained 3/4 of a pound this past week (which, I guess makes up for the lack of weight gain the previous week).
.
Ryder has mastered the task of getting his hand to his mouth to suck on.  He is doing much better at being able to soothe himself when he is upset, although, it doesn't always work for him. Yesterday, we put a Baby Einstein movie in, and he was completely mesmerized – he started crying as soon as it ended.
.
Ryder showing off a cute new shirt!

Showing off how well he can get his hand to his mouth to suck on.

Displaying his awesome neck strength.

Ryder hanging out on his changing table.  He loves having no clothes on!

Ryder wearing the Kevin Harvick outfit Patrick bought at Christmas . . . whether we had a boy, or girl, they were bound to be a Harvick fan!
.
Between Ryder's shots on Thursday and being off schedule this weekend while celebrating Patrick's birthday with all the family, he has been a bit grumpier than usual.  Hopefully, we will get back into the normal routine this week!

Ryder . 8 Weeks

8 weeks old, and still 13 pounds 10 ounces (no weight gain this past week).
.
Nearly all of Ryder's 0-3 month clothing has been put away - some pants, and his pajamas still fit.  He is definitely spending more and more time awake, and is smiling more purposefully every day.
.
After getting home from Peach Days on Saturday, Ryder was very tired.

Ryder ready to watch the NASCAR race Saturday night, in his "driver's uniform" jammies.  They are a bit big, but super cute!

Enjoying some time on his play mat.

A great smile while playing "airplane"!
.
Ryder's 2 month appointment is on Thursday, and he will be getting his first major round of shots (2 months and 4 months seem to have the most).

Ryder . 7 Weeks

7 weeks old, and 13 pounds 10 ounces.
.
This past week Ryder outgrew his 0-3 month pacifier, and is starting to outgrow the 0-3 month clothing.  He is smiling more purposefully, and exercising that voice of his frequently!
.
On Saturday we went out to Antelope Island to the Balloon & Kite Stampede.  Ryder loved all the bright colors, and all the people - he stayed alert, and awake for most of our time there.

The look that I get from Ryder when I take too many pictures . . . a little grumpy, but still cute!

Ryder enjoying NASCAR - it's true, he is already a fan.  Sunday evening he was being pretty fussy, and when Patrick stood up with him, he turned his attention to the TV (which, he has yet to do), and was completely mesmorized.  Earlier that day we had gone to Costco where I found THE CUTEST footie pajamas - it's a driver's uniform, including "sponsor" patches!  We only bought the 6 month size, but I am thinking I may have to go back to buy every size (it goes up to 5T).  The uniform is for number "28" . . . just one number off of Harvick (29).

Ryder enjoying a good book!
