Ryder . 44 Weeks

44 weeks; 22 pounds, 10 ounces.
.
A few weeks ago I commented that Ryder was not content with just crawling, that he was already starting to pull himself up using ottomans/chairs/toys.  Now he can even pull himself to a standing position using a leg or a wall.
.
He actually took a first step, completely on his own, this week, but he fell immediately, and has been too scared to replicate it again.
.
Standing at the ottoman, patting it - he loves to make as much noise as possible.  I caught him as he was "talking" to me - hence the funny expression.

So proud of himself for standing using the play table.

Playing with Riley's (his BFF's (Ryan) older sister) guitar.  He loved strumming it to make noise!

Standing in the bed of Patrick's truck, using the new retaining wall pavers as a support.

Using the big ball to stand is a bit tricky!

This shirt might be one of my most favorite - and, it's completely true!!!

Patrick was able to finish up the sprinkler system (with a little bit of help from me, but really, not much) this weekend.  The landscaper was supposed to come out today to start on the top soil/grading/curbing/etc, but with the tropical rain storm we had last night, I'm thinking it will be delayed a bit.
.
We are headed out to Colorado this weekend to visit family and friends - wish us luck with an 8 hour (or more) road trip with Ryder.  He did it once before, when we went to Vegas for Thanksgiving, but he is LOTS more active now.  It should be fun!

Ryder . 43 Weeks

43 weeks, and officially 10 months; 22 pounds, 10 ounces.
.
A second tooth has emerged!  He now has the bottom front two teeth.  Still no signs of any top teeth, though.
.
Ryder often crawls around the Family Room/Kitchen with a ball in each hand.  He will throw them, and crawl to them - playing catch with himself, or will take them with him to a different toy, but will pick them up when he crawls away.

Proud of himself for standing (notice a ball in one hand, with one on the floor by him).

Some awesome bedhead!

While working outside this weekend, Ryder has spent some time in the bed of Patrick's truck - he loves being outside with us.

Just a cute pose!

Ryan (the neighbor, and Ryder's BFF(!)) and Ryder on Ryan's trampoline.  They have a solid net around it, and both boys thought it was hilarious to press their face against the net.  Ryan (who is 4 months older) can walk and bounce on the tramp like "normal", Ryder bounces while sitting on his knees.  When he gets too excited, he falls backward, and thinks it is incredibly funny.

This weekend we spent quite a bit of time working on the sprinkling system.  It is nearly finished, which means the landscaper will be able to come back to finish up the rest of the yard soon!
.
The new job is going well.  It will take me awhile to adjust - I went from working in one office, with the same people every day, to working out of four offices, and with multiple teams.  I am confident I will be happy with the move in the end, the transition period is never easy though.
.
For everyone living in Utah, or visiting in July - just a heads up that Ryder's Birthday Party will be on Saturday, July 10.  The time is yet to be determined, but if you have suggestions, I would take them!

Ryder . 42 Weeks

42 weeks; 22 pounds, 10 ounces.
 .
Ryder is still enjoying clapping, but has also started waving.  He's better when he is not distracted - of course. .
Ryder loves playing with Patrick's drill - I tell Patrick all the time that I want him to teach Ryder all of his handyman skills - he's just starting a little early!

Getting dried off after a bath - compare to the below picture . . . he was 12 weeks old.

12 weeks old, after a bath.

Ryder enjoys playing with the cat's toys - this ring has a ball that is stuck in it - both he and the cats are pretty sure if they try hard enough they will get it out.

The neighbors will be moving in this week - until then, we are borrowing their bead maze, and Ryder loves playing with it.

Mother's Day 2010.

We had a fun weekend!  Yesterday, we spent time together - just the 3 of us, and it was great!
 .
I received a call late last Tuesday that I was selected to fill one of the positions I interviewed for, and I actually started today.  Once the decision was made (TWO WEEKS after the interviews), the move happened very quick.  I'm definitely going to miss the team I have worked with the past 2 years, but I am looking forward to the new position.  I don't have too many details (I meet with the Manager this afternoon) on which office(s) I will be working.
 .
The drywall in my Craft Room is officially done, and now Patrick has some work to do with the doors, but painting will be happening soon!  The landscapers were supposed to grade the yard today, but with the heavy rain we had this morning, I'm not sure it will be done today - keep your fingers crossed it can be done by Friday, so that we can work on the sprinklers this weekend!

Ryder . 41 Weeks

41 weeks; 22 pounds, 10 ounces.
 .
Since the cutting of his first tooth, Ryder has had quite the runny nose, but other than that, he is doing just fine.
 .
He is pulling himself up on ottomans and chairs, but is not good at sitting back down on his own - he gets scared, and just cries/whines for help.
 .
He has started to clap on demand, and LOVES when you clap for him, praising him for doing something well.
 .
Snapped mid-laugh!

Standing while playing.

Playing with the water in the faucet.

Getting him to clap for a picture was a bit tricky!

Playing his guitar with Patrick.

Testing out the neighbor's swing set - he was absolutely thrilled to swing.  The new neighbors had a hiccup in their closing plans, and due to some issues, are using our backyard and garage for storage until they move in later this week.

We had another fun weekend!  We celebrated Mother's Day with my mom yesterday, and will be celebrating with Jody (Patrick's mom) on Saturday.
 .
And, in what Patrick always says is "typical" with anything involving government, I don't have any news on the interviews.  I was told that it should be announced by tomorrow, but I was really hoping to have found out today . . . but, with only an hour left in my day, I'm thinking it won't be until tomorrow . . . if that statement was accurate (originally, it was supposed to be the end of last week).
