Ryder . 14 Months

14 months old; 25 pounds.
 .
As with last month, we've had a busy past few weeks.  Ryder started walking on August 28, but would really only walk to someone if you were coaxing him.  On September 10 we were at Peach Days in Brigham, and he was getting fussy in his stroller, but he didn't want to be held either - I set him down, and he just took off.  The last few weeks, especially this past week, has brought lots of exploring!
 .
So much for staying relatively clean while eating.

Bath time.

Ryder LOVES hugging Kate (and Pete), but neither of them love it.

Watching a rain storm from the Front Porch.

Ryder thought he was pretty funny wearing Patrick's shirt.

Trying to capture him walking at first was pretty hard - he comes at you quick!

Walking.

Playing with his train - he loves putting the blocks in the correct hole.

Antelope Island Balloon Stampede.

Soaking in some sun one last time at the Roy Aquatic Center - he's going to miss this place - it doesn't open again until June 2011.

Tomato Days (in Hooper) Baby Contest.  The judges were clearly blind that morning - he didn't win.

Ryder's favorite part of Tomato Days was when the tractor leveled out the arena (for the dog races!).

Ryder never passes up an opportunity to play with Patrick's tape measurer.

Peach Days in Brigham City.  You would think by now that Ryder would know to look at the camera - we have to work on the self-portrait thing!

"What powder, mom?!?"

Bath time.

This kid loves watermelon!

Walking.

Walking - the shirt is a NASCAR/Kevin Harvick joke.

Trying to catch geese with Patrick.

Watching the ducks (and wishing we had brought bread!).
Ryder finally cut a 5th tooth.  We still are hoping for more to come soon, so that he can more easily chew food.  He continues to not talk, but he recognizes more and more words every day.  His sound affect repertoire is also growing!
.This next month is calmer, as summer winds down completely.  We have some celebrating to do for Patrick's birthday and a few weekend activities planned.  We are loving the start of cooler weather, and have been spending quite a bit more time outside playing.
