Ryder's "Parent Night" . September 2011

Recently, Ryder had "Parent Night" at his preschool.  They divided the class into two "sessions".  The children were encouraged to show their parents what "work" they do in the classroom.

When the clean-up song was sang, Ryder did a great job at putting his "work" away, and joining the other children (and their parents) at Circle Time.

Following a brief Circle Time, the children were excused by song, one-at-a-time, to wash their hands, get a placemat, and sit at the table for a snack.

Ryder's teacher helping into his seat - the chairs have arms, so it can be tricky.

Ryder didn't want the snack offered that evening (pretzels), so he emptied the pretzels in the trash, carried his plate over to the dirty bin, and put his placemat away.  Ryder then chose to do more "work" at a table.

Completing a puzzle.

Working on a color/repition "work".

Checking to make sure he got out all of the colored fabric.
We got a chance to briefly talk with his teachers to hear how he does.  They had excellent things to tell us about Ryder - most noticeable was how impressed they are with his eating.  They said he is one of the best eaters in the class, feeds himself without issue, and eats most of his food . . . now, if only he was that cooperative when we are home with company!

Ryder's Parent Teacher Conferences are coming up soon, and we will have the opportunity to learn more about Ryder, but it was fun to take a peek into his school routine with him.
