Friday night it stormed. All night. But, in the morning it was clear. We checked Facebook and the event's website - neither indicated the balloons wouldn't launch. So, we packed up everyone, and headed to Kaysville - only to be disappointed when no one was there. We still ate our picnic breakfast at the park, and had fun! We made the most of our morning by going to the Bountiful Costco and the NEW SELF-SERVE RED MANGO(!!!).
Sunday we decided to attempt it again. We had a bit of a hard time getting everyone ready and out the door, so we were running a little late. As we approached Kaysville the balloons were starting to launch - we got to the park in time to see the last one get inflated and take off. Ryder was a bit anxious - presumably from the Clinton Days slide incident.
And, yes, I did try to get my annual pictures...
When it wasn't working, because they would have to look into the sun, we tried it from a bit of a different angle...

And, a shot of me with my boys!

The change of moving the morning launches to Kaysville worked out okay - the ground is much nicer at the park (rather than the dry/dusty/stickery ground). But, I definitely missed the vendors...but, packing up the boys two days in a row was enough - doing it again to take them out to Antelope Island was not worth it.
My annual photo may be coming to an end...it gets harder each year...
