Apraxia of Speech . Week 22 . "v"

If you're new to my blog (maybe from Facebook?!), you may want to read here about what Apraxia of Speech is, and how it affects our lives.  And, here, if you're interested in past updates.
.
SOUND: /p/, /s/, /v/
PRIMARY WORD(S): pie, pay, pop, bat, see, have
ADDITIONAL WORD(S): bite, bike, book, bus
HAND SIGNAL: /p/, /s/, /v/ (vvuh) - with your pointer finger, touch your lips, while saying "vvuh"
.
Ryder had PCMC Therapy and Private Therapy this week.  The PCMC Therapy went better than it has the past handful of times, but Ryder still was not too interested in participating.  He would parrot the words/sounds of the Therapist, but did not engage in new sounds/words - it was just a review.
.
I attended the Private Thearpy with Ryder for the first time (previously, it has been at school, during school hours).  Patrick and I were a bit worried about how Ryder would do, considering he was in a different environment, and there would be new distractions.  The Therapist said that he did not quite as well as he has done, but she was still very happy with his participation.  And, I was impressed.  Ryder did not once tell the Therapist "no, hank (thank) you" when she asked for him to participate - something he does frequently at PCMC.  Additionally, I was very happy to see the Therapist move to different activities, as they interested Ryder - she didn't have him continue the same thing just for the sake of doing it "three times".
.
One-step-at-a-time.
